A reassuring little book that explains that ordinary things look different in the darkness. When Nicky goes to bed he thinks there is someone behind the door, but it's only his dressing gown! A large spider hanging from the ceiling becomes a pattern on the wall when the light goes on. Monsters turn out to be socks and slippers, a ghost is really a coat and hat; there's nothing outside but trees and the wind. A good selection of pictures showing that it really is quite safe to fall asleep.
